A Letter from Marjorie
Thank you for taking the time to read more about me. I am excited about being a 1st-time mom and to open my arms and heart to your child. I look forward to sharing with them my love for traveling and learning about different cultures. I am also excited to include them in all of my family traditions, vacations, and holiday events- like Christmas. I am very excited to adopt and grateful that God has shown me this path. I would love the opportunity to speak with you and keep in touch through letters, pictures, and visits.
I would describe myself as a friendly and determined person. I got my Master’s degree in Information Technology and truly believe that anyone can achieve their goals if they set their heart and mind to it. I work for the Department of Defense as an inspector and have been doing this job for 15 years now. It has been an exciting experience! I’ve always wanted to be a mother but after trying to get pregnant and being unsuccessful I was lead to prayer. God lead me to search for other ways to become a mother and adoption was presented. I have so much love to give and am excited to share that love and my home with your child. I look forward to watching them grow and supporting them as they learn and enjoy all that life has to offer.
I enjoy traveling to other countries to see how they live, try and enjoy their local food, and listen and dance to their music. Per COVID I would try to travel once a year and I hope to continue this tradition once things are safe. My last vacation was to St. Lucia and it was a dual-purpose trip- vacation and family event. This trip was special because it was my 4yr old niece’s 1st time on vacation. The look on her face as we traveled was priceless. I look forward to taking your child traveling, sharing with them my passion for other cultures, and seeing the excitement on their face as we see new things together. I also have a dog, Heather, who I love to take on walks and road trips. On cold or wet evenings, I enjoy snuggling up on the sofa to watch a movie and relax. I am excited to share my time and activities with your little and look forward to movie nights with hot cocoa together.
I am a 1st generation American born to parents from Haiti. I am the oldest of four and have two half-brothers from my father and a younger sister. I am very close to my sister; we talk several times a day. I speak to my mom daily and my dad periodically. My mom is the oldest of seven siblings and I am the oldest of ten grandchildren on my mom’s side. My family is very close with one another however 2020 has provided many challenges since COVID started. Normally my family and friends get together for birthdays, holidays or just because we miss each other. Since COVID, my friends and I have started a weekly Zoom get together on Friday nights where we talk, play music, and eat together. My friends and family are still a big part of my life and they are all as excited as I am to welcome your child into the family.
I just moved to NJ and live in a two-bedroom two and a half bath townhouse. It has three floors; the main floor has a recreation room big enough to play in and watch tv. The middle floor is where the kitchen and living area is located. The living area has a lot of open space which is perfect for playing games. The bedrooms are on the top floor and I have already picked out baby’s room! The room has plenty of space for the little one to play and grow. There is a playground not too far from my house which I am excited to take them to.
My favorite family tradition is Christmas. We have five family homes that we rotate yearly to spend Christmas. The homes are in the various states: Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts where twenty-three of us will be under one roof at the state of choice for that year. When we arrive at the home we eat, talk, and laugh all night. We celebrate Christmas by exchanging gifts among the children first. After the children receive their gifts the adults will then participate in a white elephant exchange. We have great fun in stealing the gifts from each other just for laughs and, once everyone has participated, we will then give the actual gifts. It always makes for great fun in my family and I am excited to share it with your child.
I promise to provide a home that has plenty of love, laughter, hugs, and kisses. I will be there to pick your child up when they fall, have a shoulder for them to cry on, and ears to listen when they need them. I will provide them with a stable education and opportunities for them to grow into a wonderful individual God intended them to be. I promise to provide them with a home that is safe and a life full of adventures. I am looking forward to showing your little one the world and all it has to offer. I am open to photos, letters, and visits if comfortable.
